What Did You Say, Honey?

I was reading vzn's blog and the post "beautiful women of OS gallery VII" contained an article from The Telegraph that I found rather interesting.

So this backs up a statement I've made to a certain attractive someone more than once: "You reduce me to a gibbering idiot."

Now I've got a study to back me up. Her amazing good looks are doing it! It's really not that weird that I sound like my brain took a permanent vacation every time she looks at me.

She always thinks it's pure flattery but I'm dead serious. In my eyes she is as beautiful or more beautiful than Christina Ricci.

Michelle Rodriguez Iz Boss

Michelle has a point -- in like that the organic changes are better than ones pushed up in your face. I don't even think she should have apologized in this case, but that's the game my people.

More power to my girl! You always die too soon in these flicks. It's bullshit.

Just Call Me Dr. Love Cakes

The_Longer_We_Make_Love_Barry_White_wiki

Barry White's ghost gets jealous when we talk on the phone.

He says my voice is too low and sexy for him to listen for long without a cold shower. Maybe two.

love_doctor

Any time Dr. Love Song calls you must pick up the phone.

Ladies, you know who you are, no games now that school is in session.

Alright we have taken care of the two essential points to understand: first that I am too sexy so you can't have it, stop asking, and second that women everywhere have to stop everything they are doing and listen to me like the words are gospel.

On to the business of the day: Can it work for men and women to be just friends, and can a friendship survive an attempt at romance?

Oh Dr. Love Beats don't play around so listen up while I crank that dial.

First we got sexy friends and how they don't end up pants down with feet kicked up the second the doors closed behind them. It's all about just what this person is to you and how you act around each other. If you act like brother and sister, even if neither of you thinks of it like that, then no harm can come of it but keep in mind now that this means things like that person could come walking out of the bathroom in nothing but a towel, their birthday suit and a single lifestyle for both of you but you still are not on the hubba-hubba-hubba train.

Never really know something like that until you test it and it's not recommended to test that one out wildly.

Good friends the answer is: yes. Just people you know barely well enough to call friends probably not, and if anyone is spending a lot of time away from their honey to be with someone they barely could call a "bestie" then it probably means they are in the process of checking out of the relationship but of course every situation has unique factors.

  tumblr_l9n8yd1pjh1qzfgkqo1_5001

Then we have sexy, long-time friends trying to figure out if kicking the romance tree will drop poisonous snakes on our heads or maybe rain a bounty of delicious apples.

That is a very tricky one and where the romance is so easily sucked out of the room like a giant vacuum cleaner set to the no-sex-in-the-champagne-room setting just got turned on every time it comes up.

First you have to think yourself out and if the friendship gets permanently threatened in your head by something like cheating or dishonesty then this not a friend that is solid enough to consider this for.

Nobody said it was easy but adults actually manage to handle these big feelings in mature fashions, but that's where the romance dies and rots in the corner of the room.

You can't really take it forward with a friend without risking the friendship unless you can be sure they also share in a policy of time apart healing wounds, in so far as being civil with the next man or whatever the situation might be.

That means talking it out, which is great for couples to keep open lines of communications but is doing it ass backwards if you are trying to pitch some woo.

So the answers to today's life questions are: yes if you're good and close friends who know limits, and nobody ever won the love game without taking a gamble but at the same time dumb bets never break the bank.

Some parting words for the men of the audience before Dr. Love Cakes retires for the evening to my silk bedding and multiple wives.

Never met a woman yet that I had a worth talking about relationship with that didn't try and push me away in one form or another. But if you already got that figured think on this one: don't become that overly pushy guy or she's going to push you right out the door one day.

When they say "space" or "time" or just ignore your fucking txts / calls then stop fucking bugging them for awhile even if that girl has you so in a twist right now.

You can man it up for a few days, don't give me this shit about how you just had to do the million calls thing. If she wants it and you want it and she knows it, all the stuff is as set as it gets without you there to fuel that fire like we love to do.

So go do something else for awhile before you make that poor woman break her phone against the wall.

Real Housewives of NY

What could bring the ladies back to the Big Apple from the Hamptons? Fashion Week! And what did Fashion Week bring out of the women? Cat fights!

On Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York, newcomer Kelly revealed that she writes for the New York Post’s Page Six. Meanwhile, Ramona, Jill and Bethenny planned a fundraiser to combat arthritis, an important cause to Jill, because her teenage daughter, Ally, suffers from the disease.

While Kelly and LuAnn tied and zipped each other up in the dressing room at Malo, we learned that Kelly hadn’t been called to help plan Jill’s fundraiser. So, LuAnn — the example of etiquette that she is — invited her friend herself.

At designer Zang Toi’s private fashion show, Bethenny joined Jill and showed off her Social Life magazine cover. The twosome quickly laid into Kelly. Jill complained that she doesn’t wear bras. Who needs to see her “wandering breasts?” she asked. Bethenny complained that Kelly’s trying desperately to be a part of the fabulous New York scene. Don’t they all do that?

Back on her turf, Kelly was in Jill Stuart’s store doing a fashion-week interview with the designer herself. “I’m not in this business to be snarky. I’m not in this business to be cunning,” she said of her role as a trusted journalist. Isn’t Page Six the Mecca of snarky and cunning? Odd fit.

Later, when Bethenny descended on the Jill Stuart show, the two were sat next to each other. Bethenny thought Kelly acted as if she didn’t know her — again. And Kelly complained that Bethenny didn’t seem to want to give her the time of day. As they made small talk, the tension kept growing, and growing, and growing. It was like watching the tinfoil expand on some steaming-hot Jiffy Pop popcorn.

At a second meeting for the fundraiser, Kelly joined in on the action — and called Ally’s arthritis “cute.” Then she objected to listing her name as a co-chair for the event because she doesn’t “lend her name to anything.”

“Kelly wanted us to all know how busy and important she is,” Bethenny said. “Evidently she’s Madonna.”

“Bethenny has a very serious problem with me,” Kelly said. “That’s something she needs to work on. I can’t babysit her on that.”

Well after this episode, a lot of people may have a problem with Kelly. – Mark Dagostino

Idol’s Megan Joy Don’t Care If Haters: ‘Didn’t Get Me’

Megan Joy knows not everyone was a fan of her quirky style of singing and dancing on American Idol, and the day after her exit, the Sandy, Utah, native had a message for all the haters. “If you didn’t get me, I probably wouldn’t get you, so we’re even,” Joy told PEOPLE with a laugh.

Sensing that she would be sent packing, Joy, 23, ensured that her last night on the Idol stage was a memorable one. She told judge Simon Cowell she didn’t care that he hadn’t liked her performance the previous night, and she flapped and cawed like a bird as she made her way to her Bottom 3 seat. “If I’m gonna go out, I was ready to go out with a bang,” she said of her antics. “It was [good TV], and I’m here to entertain.”

She claimed there were no hard feelings over Cowell’s announcement that the judges would not even consider using the Judges’ Save option on her. After the show ended, Cowell joined Joy onstage and the two kissed and made up. “He gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek,” Joy reported. “We both laughed, and he was like, ‘Let’s get this awkwardness over with.’

She also received a message of support from two high-profile fans, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie, whom she’d met recently while out at dinner. “We’d actually exchanged numbers, and I got a really nice text from them that said I did great,” Joy said. “It made me feel really good.

During her relatively brief Idol run, Joy was the source of much behind-the-scenes intrigue. There was her bout with the flu that left her hooked up to an IV until a mere 30 minutes before her Country Week performance, and her brother’s heckling of Kara DioGuardi after the new judge criticized Joy’s performance this week. There were even rumors of a budding romance between Joy and fellow contestant Matt Giraud, though Joy insists there’s no truth in that. “Not at all,” said the recently divorced single mother. “We’re just friends. He has a girlfriend, and I have no interest in dating right now.” The two have, however, forged a tight bond, she says, over “just being lonely, you know, and wanting to laugh.”

Joy’s looking forward to returning home next week to spend time with her 2-year-old son Ryder, whom she talked to on the phone every day but hasn’t seen in two months. She also plans to commemorate the Idol experience by adding to her extensive tattoo collection: “I have a lucky ring that I’ve worn since the beginning of the show [of] a heart and inside the heart is a bird with a banner [that] says, ‘Fly lightly.’ It’s kind of like my favorite saying, and I’m gonna get it [tattooed] big on my ribs.”

Beyond that, she’s looking forward to trying her hand at writing music and finding out what the future holds. “A part of me is very sad to be done [with Idol],” she said. “I’m probably gonna cry a lot when when I have a moment. But it’s good tears too. It’s not over for me.” – Shawna Malcom
